Welcome to the 2010 ALLIES Learning Exchange: Putting Ideas into Action

Join over 150 participants from more than 10 city regions across Canada and learn about issues and strategies to promote the employment of skilled immigrants. The 2010 ALLIES Learning Exchange is bringing together local stakeholders including businesses, civic leaders, universities and colleges, immigrant agencies and all levels of government in participating communities such as Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver.

The event will be held in warm and friendly Halifax from Thursday, May 6 to Friday, May 7.

  • Panel discussions on hiring practices, mentoring and engaging SMEs
  • Marketplace of products, tools and strategies that are implemented across the country including the hireimmigrants.ca Roadmap, internship and loan programs as well as innovative new programming such as Dream Manager and Connector
  • Workshops – two-hour in-depth sessions, including topics such as fundraising, social media and developing a successful bridging program, and building relationships with media
  • Reception and Dinner at Pier 21, Canada’s Immigration Museum
