Transit
Public transit is increasingly being recognized as an essential service, but it faces a number of challenges, not least of which is its price tag. Even though the region loses out in productivity when people are stuck in traffic or don’t have reasonable access to public transit, continued investment is a challenge for the region. Ensuring that our region’s low-income neighbourhoods have good access to transit is important, as is preparing for growth in these neighbourhoods (anticipated as a result of immigration).
