Ramadan
From August 21st to September 19th, many of the world’s Muslims will begin observing the 9th month of their calendar, Ramadan.  For those who fast, they will not eat or drink from sunrise to sundown for 30 days.  Saira Zuberi, a specialist in Islamic law and women’s rights will be experiencing Ramadan in Syria for a few weeks before returning to Toronto where she plans to attend a Friday iftar at a refugee centre.
