Celebrating the Strengths in “Vulnerable” Neighbourhoods

The Caledon Institute recently released a framework for social inclusion for the City of Hamilton.  This work was carried out in anticipation of the City’s role as co-host of the PanAm Games in 2015.  The framework included a description of neighbourhoods considered “vulnerable.”  While they face serious economic and social challenges, this commentary describes their wide-ranging assets as well as the exemplary efforts being undertaken by residents and service providers to enhance the quality of life in these neighbourhoods.
