Cranberry Portage Child/Family Resource Centre

The Child/Family Resource Centre provides programs for children and families in Cranberry Portage, Manitoba, and surrounding communities in the north of the province. With support from Health Canada”s Community Action Program for Children and through innovative partnerships with aboriginal organizations, community groups, educational institutions, provincial government agencies and nongovernmental health organizations the Resource Centre provides a variety of services and supports for vulnerable families. These supports include parenting programs, in-home visits, cooking circles, a breakfast program, a toy/book lending library, play groups and family literacy activities. The paper, written by the Director of the Centre, describes some of the partnerships and programs developed as well as by lessons learned.
