Five-Point Plan for Reforming Disability Supports
Published on October 12, 2007
This paper sets out a five-point checklist to guide the reform of provincial and territorial systems of disability supports – the goods and services that persons with disabilities require to live independently and to participate in communities. The reform checklist includes the following categories of activity: providing information, easing access to supports, improving delivery, developing a citizen-centred approach and changing the broader context. The paper presents examples of actions within each of these categories of reform.
