Goodwill: Partnerships That Work
For 65 years, Goodwill Toronto has been on a mission: to help people with disabilities and others facing employment barriers find meaningful jobs in the community. This paper describes several Goodwill programs developed through strong partnerships with community, corporate and government agencies that lead participants to guaranteed jobs in some of Canada”s top companies. These initiatives include a customer service training program for youth and persons with disabilities, developed in partnership with Wal-Mart; call centre training programs for persons with disabilities and at-risk youth; and HELP (Hotel Employment Leadership Program), which places at-risk youth and youth with disabilities in customer service positions in major Toronto-area hotels.
