LASI World Skills: Making Good on Employment Promises
Published on September 7, 2004
By forging strategic partnerships among its member immigrant services agencies, government departments and educational institutions, Ottawa-based Local Agencies Serving Immigrants (LASI) has helped to create a program which will speed the entry of internationally trained teachers into the Ontario work force. The lessons learned from this program are being applied to a number of employment streams through LASI’s World Skills operations. Building on a foundation of collaboration, LASI’s model has already proven successful in securing employment for internationally trained teachers in Ontario’s publicly funded education system.
