Lessons from the Data Rescue Crowdfunding Campaign

The Caledon Institute recently completed a successful crowdfunding campaign to help fund Welfare Incomes, the report produced by the (now-defunct) National Council of Welfare. This commentary reflects on the crowdfunding experience and shares some key lessons that we learned through this process. They include selecting carefully the identified cause, respecting donor preferences and expressing appreciation for all contributions and messages of support.
