Looking ahead: Preparing for the next 25 years of social policy
After 25 years of social policy research and analysis the Caledon Institute of Social Policy is winding down its operations at the end of November 2017. To mark the occasion, we hosted a conference on November 27 to explore how the social policy lessons of the past 25 years can equip us for the challenges of the future. The conference brought together social policy experts who have shaped where we are today and the next generation of social policy innovators who will be leading us into the future. Following the afternoon conversations, we celebrated the achievements of the Caledon team at an evening reception.
One of the highlights of the conference was a conversation between Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Matt Galloway, host of CBC Radio’s Metro Morning.

Before the conference got underway, Maytree president Elizabeth McIsaac was interviewed on CBC Radio Metro Morning and Ontario Morning. In both interviews she talked about housing as a human right.
