What You Need to Know About the Canada Job Fund

Published on 10/12/2014

Ottawa recently signed Canada Job Fund agreements that will transfer $500 million to the provinces and territories for labour market training over the next six years.  These agreements replace the previous Labour Market Agreements.  The centrepiece of the Canada Job Fund is the Canada Job Grant under which employers will get a government grant of up to $10,000, supplemented by their own funds of up to $5,000, to provide training programs.  This question and answer (Q &A) explains how the new Canada Job Fund will work and the implications of the change from the Labour Market Agreements.
