Social Housing with Community Support: A Study of the FOHM Experience
This paper presents the results of an evaluation of the social housing program of the Fédération des OSBL d’habitation de Montréal (Montreal Federation of Housing Non-profit Organizations). The results are based on interviews with tenants and focus group meetings. The findings indicate that the program has improved the quality of life of the tenants, although this improvement was more significant in some aspects of their lives than in others. Overall, the evaluation provides evidence of the need for this type of program as well as for better integrated social policies in the areas of housing, health and social services.
