Environment Canada and the Canadian Nature Federation are promoting the widespread development of a Canadian Community Monitoring Network (CCMN) – a process which engages citizens in gathering data on local ecological indicators and delivers summary information to decision makers in a timely fashion. The CCMN would ensure that concern for the environment informs the development of responsive and responsible public policy.
