Victoria’s Regional Housing Trust Fund: So Far, So Good
Published on November 21, 2005
BC’s Capital Region has one of the highest average house prices in the country. In order to build homes which are affordable to the majority of citizens, seven of the region’s thirteen municipal governments have agreed to contribute to a Regional Housing Trust Fund. This story describes the partnerships that helped build support for this landmark fund and the steps they took to make it a reality.
This is the eighth in a series of community stories which highlights the efforts of local partners involved in Vibrant Communities – a pan-Canadian project that seeks local solutions to reduce poverty and build more caring communities.
