Good Work: Getting It and Keeping It
This summary document is a companion report to the book, Employment Policy Options, to be published by the Caledon Institute of Social Policy. The book is composed of 10 chapters on various aspects of unemployment and underemployment. The chapters explore the jobs issue from a range of perspectives including economic and labour market trends, fiscal and monetary policy, training, the redistribution of working time, wages/incomes policy, community economic development, self-employment, youth employment, corporate responsibility and labour responsibility. Good Work: Getting It and Keeping It draws on the research and key themes presented in the companion book. The summary report is intended to pull together in one place the myriad policy options that combat unemployment and promote good work. It sets out the specific actions that can be taken by individual sectors, including business, labour, governments and foundations.
