David Leonard

David Leonard is the Senior Director, 6 Degrees at the Institute for Canadian Citizenship. Previously, he was the Director of Events for the Walrus Foundation. As the founding producer of the Walrus Talks, he developed more than one hundred live events for the charity, and brought hundreds of Canada’s brightest minds to Walrus stages from coast to coast to coast. Prior to that, he did communications and campaign work for a number of national environmental charities, and before that spent almost a decade as a publicist for some of the most well-known authors and publishers in Canada and around the world. He is also the creator of a popular, eponymous crowd-sourced social media weather service, the #DLWS. He was born in Halifax and lives in Toronto.
