A passionate advocate for social justice, Frances Lankin has been a strong voice on community and social issues related to children, youth, disabled, seniors, women and health, and long-term care. For more than a decade, she served the constituents in the riding of Beaches–East York as a Member of Provincial Parliament. Elected in 1990, Francis was appointed Minister of Government Services and Chair of the Management Board of Cabinet. She went on to serve as Minister of Health (1991–93) and Minister of Economic Development and Trade (1993–1995). From 2001 to 2010, Frances served as president and CEO of United Way of Greater Toronto.
