Thomas Appleyard is an independent management consultant and facilitator where his mission is fostering clarity and safety in caring organizations. He has worked with over 80 caring organizations and collaborations, primarily in the summer camp and health sectors.

Thomas has over 20 years of experience in emergency management, including as Manager of Emergency Response and Recovery with Ontario’s Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.

In addition to his independent consulting and facilitation work, Thomas is Part-Time Faculty at the Schulich School of Business, President of the Camp Safety Network, and Camp Wenonah’s Director of Camp Kivita: a camp for children with organ transplants and organ failure.

Thomas has a Bachelor of Science, a Master of Social Work, a Master of Business Administration, a Certificate in Workplace Coaching and a Certificate in Dispute Resolution from the University of Toronto and York University. He has additional certifications in occupational health & safety, psychological health & safety, emergency management training, and food safety.
